The water sector has been one of NIRAS’ key areas of expertise since its foundation in 1956.

Today, NIRAS has over 200 in-house water professionals who collaborate with over 500 external water sector specialists, implementing water sector projects and programmes in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and South America.

NIRAS participated in the very first offshore wind projects in Denmark in 1989 and are now involved in some of the largest offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. Our services cover planning, design, consultancy and project management, as well as project development.

NIRAS has been involved in onshore projects since 1986 with our main activities focused in Northern Europe.
